수려한 자연환경의 가평에 위치한 사룡리는 서울 인근에 위치함에도 불구하고 생태보전이 잘 되어 있는 곳으로 유명하다. 이 프로젝트는 한적하고 여유로운 장소에 객실수가 제한된 소규모 부티크 호텔을 계획한 것이다. 호텔의 객실들은 일반호텔에 비해 비교적 규모가 크며 다양한 객실타입으로 구성되어 있으며 로비, 카페 및 레스토랑, 옥외 풀장 등의 부대시설이 있다. 청평호와 도로사이의 좁고 긴 대지 위에 호텔을 배치함으로써 모든 객실이 청평호 방향으로 뷰가 열려 있어 창밖으로 펼쳐지는 아름다운 강의 풍경을 즐길 수 있다. 도로에서 봤을 때 건물 대부분이 경사면에 뭍혀있기 때문에 건물의 규모가 작아 보이는데, 호텔 출입구를 지나 나선형 계단을 통해 내려오면서 호텔 로비의 넓고 높은 공간감을 느낄 수 있고 눈앞에 펼쳐지는 강의 풍경을 극적으로 마주하게 된다.

Sarong-li is an area within Gapyeong province which is known for its serene topography and untamed wilderness despite its proximity to Seoul. The project is conceived as a small, secluded boutique hotel for limited number of rooms. Yet, it contains large suite rooms in various configurations as well as a restaurant and an outdoor deck with a infinity-edge swimming pool. As the site is located on a long and narrow strip of land adjacent to river, all the guest rooms in the hotel can enjoy a fantastic view of the river which flows just few meters apart from the building. Since the majority of the hotel is built against the slope below the road level, the building appears much smaller upon arrival. However, as one enters the building and moves down the spiral steps to the lobby level, one can appreciate the true scale of the building and enjoy sweeping views of the river.
