명동 인근에 위치한 이 호텔은 60년의 역사를 지닌 서울에서 가장 오래된 근대 호텔 중 하나로 특히 외국인관광객들이 선호한다. 호텔은 기존보다 2배 이상 높은 15층으로 신축하였고, 다양한 객실타입과 부대시설을 배치하여 색다른 경험과 심미적 즐거움을 선사하는 부티크 호텔로 재탄생 하였다.
호텔의 최상부층에 위치한 수영장은 서울도심의 경관을 즐기며 여유를 즐길 수 있는 공간으로 계획하여 관광명소의 역할을 하고자 하였으며, 레스토랑은 수영장과 연계하여 다양한 파티를 계획할 수 있도록 하였다. 내부면적을 조절하여 건물높이를 주변건물보다 높게 확보함으로써 입면에서 멋진 비례감을 자랑하고, 입체적인 다이아몬드 패턴으로 디자인한 호텔의 외피는 도시적이고 세련된 호텔의 이미지를 보여준다.
This hotel is located with in central district of Seoul near Myeongdong. The original hotel was built almost 60 years ago. Now it will be rebuilt to become twice the size of its existing structure. With 15 floors above grade and 4 basement floors. The now hotel will become a unique, boutique type hotel featuring unconventional, stylish rooms and a spectacular oval shaped indoor swimming pool at the top floor. Due to the black diagonal pattern of the curtain wall facade clad on triangular floor plan of the building. the tower will appear quite slender and dramatic.
